Who is Core Oncology Ltd?
Core Oncology Ltd is an oncology clinical trial consultancy company. This privacy notice explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when we conduct business communication with you.
Legal basis for data processing
The law on data protection sets out a series of reasons for which a company may collect and process your contact details (data) including:
Consent — In specific situations we can collect and process your data with your consent. For example, if you request that you are added to Core Oncology Ltd’s list of oncology physicians.
Legitimate Interest — In specific situations, we require your data to pursue our legitimate interests in a way that might reasonably be expected as part of running Core Oncology Ltd’s oncology clinical trial feasibility business and which does not materially impact your rights, freedoms or interests.
What data do we collect about you?
If you agree to be added to Core Oncology Ltd’s list of oncology clinical trial physicians, we will record your name, your place of work, your work email address, your telephone number, the areas of oncology in which you specialise and any specific notes you provide to us on how you wish us to communicate with you.
Who is collecting the data?
This information is being collected and processed by Core Oncology Ltd in its capacity as both data processor and controller.
How is the data collected?
The data is initially collected from public domain sources such as clinicaltrials.gov, university web sites and peer-reviewed publications. The data is only retained if you agree to be added to Core Oncology Ltd’s list of oncology clinical trial physicians.
Why is the data being collected?
The data is being collected in order to contact you to ask if you may be interested in enrolling patients onto oncology clinical trials relevant to the patient population that you treat, according to your academic and professional profile.
How will the data be used?
The data will be used to contact you if Core Oncology Ltd is asked to contact physicians, who might be interested in enrolling patients onto a clinical trial, relevant to your area of oncology treatment expertise. If you are interested in the clinical trial project, Core Oncology Ltd may use your data to exchange business emails with you while the project is ongoing. You will be able to opt out at any point by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Who will it be shared with?
The data will not be shared with any third parties without your consent. In the event that you say you are interested in enrolling patients on one of the clinical trials in question, we will pass your name and e-mail address to the sponsoring pharmaceutical company or their contract clinical research organisation (CRO), so they can start the process of site activation with you.
What will be the effect of this on you?
The effect on you will be that you may receive communication from Core Oncology Ltd when a clinical trial, relevant to their area of oncology expertise, is starting or in preparation. There will be no other effect.
Access to your data, corrections and deletions
You have the right to request a copy of the data that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of this data, you can email us at email@example.com (addressing your question to ‘The data protection officer’) or write to us at the business address shown on our web site (https://core-oncology.com).
We aim to make sure that your personal data is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove data that is inaccurate or to have all of your data removed from our contact list.
Is the intended use likely to cause individuals to object or complain?
Core Oncology Ltd feels that the use of the data is unlikely to cause individuals to object or complain, as the contact will be highly relevant to the individual’s area of professional interest and expertise. However, Core Oncology Ltd will always make it easy to opt-out of receiving any further contact and can easily delete the individual’s data if requested.
